πŸ’› Thank the person who tagged you
πŸ’› Credit the creator of this tag (Michelle!) and link back to this post so she can find out allll about your WIPs!

TIME TO INTRODUCE YOUR MAIN CHARACTERS!

Revillon

Revy 2.gif
Revy is a masculine-presenting, androphilic nonbinary person who goes by fae/ faer/ faers/ faerself. Fae is so cute, sweet, and tough. Also, Revy is an enchanter (magic user)!

Klint

Klint.gif
Klint is a cis gay guy (who also likes enbies). He’s an enchanter as well. It was hard to find a suitable image, but he’s pretty seductive and likes to be suave and charming. Most people (especially his ex Theoten) think Klint is a psychopath. His POV is the most fun to write, honestly.

Theoten

Theo maybe.gif
Theo is a gay trans guy, also an enchanter. He’s kind of hard on the outside, soft on the inside–but not always.

Pyris

Pyris.gif
Pyris is an enchanter as well. He’s a cis gay guy and the love interest of Theoten. Pyris is short, adorable, nice to some people but gruff to others.

HOW WOULD YOUR MAIN CHARACTER REACT IN A CRISIS?

I’ll just do Revy and Klint here, for the sake of conciseness.

Klint

HOW WOULD YOU REACT IF YOU WERE TO MEET YOUR CHARACTERS?

You make me feel less cynical.gif

AND IF YOU WERE TO MEET YOUR ANTAGONIST?

Chocolate

LOLLLL. We actually have not met the antagonist in my story yet…

IS THERE ANY ROMANCE IN YOUR WIP? HOW WOULD YOU SUM IT UP IN GIFS?

    1. Thanks! πŸ˜€ I haven’t written up a personal bio yet, but I’m actually nonbinary trans and bi myself. ^^ So I’m writing stuff I want to see more of. Exactly, we need more LGBT+ – inclusive fantasy!

  1. Hello Sieran! It was fun reading about your WIP! I love the GIFs that you picked. I also love how diverse your characters are. Just curious how you came up with the character names? They sound very awesome πŸ™‚

    1. Yay! I’m glad you liked it. πŸ˜€ The GIFs took so long to find, but they were fun. I’m a nonbinary trans person myself, and identify as a transmasc enby. πŸ˜€ (My pronouns are ze, zim, zis, zizelf.) I am mostly androphilic, so I can relate to Revy, haha, though fae is not on the masculine spectrum. Fae is also amab (assigned male at birth), and I’m afab (assigned female at birth). Haha, I love writing LGBTQ+ romances!

For Revillon, I was probably thinking about dreams, which is rΓͺve in French. RΓͺver would be “to dream.” A similar-looking word is rΓ©veiller, which is “to awaken.” Lol, and somehow I was thinking, phonetically, of the Pokemon Vivillon (it’s a butterfly) and the French word for butterfly, papillon. So…with a bunch of associations and sound play, the name “Revillon” was born! It’s pronounced “reh-vee-on.” “Revy” is pronounced “reh-vee.”

Klint is just a male name that I’ve heard of from a novel I read a long time ago (Fragile Beasts by Tawni O’Dell https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1141995.Fragile_Beasts ). I quite like that name, so I picked it up here, haha.

Don’t quite remember how I chose “Theoten” (pronounced “thee-oh-tin”), lol. But shortly after I started writing about him, I learned that a friend of mine was dating a transmasculine individual named Theo. What a coincidence!

Sometimes I start off thinking about what the first letter or syllable the name should be. So I felt that my trans guy MC should have a “T” or “Th” name! For his love interest Pyris, I thought it was a good idea for his name to begin with a “P.” It’s pronounced “peer-ris.” LOL, I just play with sounds in my head, and try to write it out properly in letters. But “Peeris,” “Puris,” look weird. So I chose “Pyris” instead, lol.

I’m happy you like their names! ^^

P.S. I just realized I didn’t mention that Revy is also an enchanter. XD Oops.

      1. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community, it is great that you can bring that perspective into your novel πŸ™‚
Very interesting to hear about how you come up with names! Happy writing!

      2. Thank you!! Recently I’ve been spending too much time writing blog articles and too little time working on my story. XD As you can see, my blog is brand new, and I’ve never really blogged before, so it’s still novel and shiny to me at the moment, lol. But my WIP is about to enter a fight scene, yay!

  2. Yeah I feel guilty, though, so I wrote a bit more on my WIP today. I didn’t do a lot, because I went through SO MUCH intense emotion today, mostly positive. πŸ˜€ And I also started going to another trans support group and made new friends! πŸ˜€

That’s another thing. Social interactions are awesome and you can’t live without them. (I’ve experienced the adverse health consequences of going too long without having any significant face-to-face interactions. :/) Yet, socializing also takes up tons of time, lol. So it’s a constant balancing act.
